STEAM Program
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
EduGate, LLC. is pleased to offer a custom STEAM Program. This program consists of daily English instruction relating to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Afternoon activities consist of lectures, discussion, facility tours and hands on activities in Science and Technology, Programming and Robotics, Mathematics and Physics, and Art.
The primary goals for the program are:
• To offer the students a cross-cultural experience
• To improve their knowledge and understanding in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Science
• To improve their knowledge and understanding of careers in STEAM
• To increase their basic knowledge of American culture
• To experience various sites within northern California of academic, historical and social significance
The program includes a tour of UC Davis and related academic facilities, SF Academy of Science, Mondavis Institute of Food Sciences, the Center for Nano-Micro Manufacturing, the Engineering Fabrication Center, as well as the Design Center and notable Art Museums. The students will have the opportunity to enjoy interaction with UCD students during afternoon activities and field trips. The program concludes with the students’ presentations and Certificate Presentation.
Student Activity Leaders (SALs) will direct the students on all of the daily activities as well as accompany them on all field trips.
ACADEMIC COORDINATOR
An Academic Coordinator will be assigned to oversee the academic program to ensure that program goals will be met and the academic standards remain high.
STUDENT PROFILE
The group number is expected to be 20-50 high school students who are interested in improving their language skills and learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, as well as having a cross-cultural experience.
HOUSING
Students will be placed in homestays in the city of Davis or the surrounding area. For their homestay experience, the students will have private rooms, three meals per day, and access to laundry facilities and a telephone for local calls; students will need to use a calling card for long distance calls.

With over thirty-five years of experience, the UC Davis Center for International Education (CIE), offers international programs for international students from over 70 countries. The Center’s academic programs are wide-ranging and innovative; including international English programs, programs for high school students and business certificates for developing professionals.
Through close analysis of CIE’s programs and EduGate’s direct experience and understanding of foreign program demand in China, EduGate is happy to offer this quality program.
